Laundry items need to be put in plastic bags and kept in the dryer. Other items should be wrapped in plastic and placed in a hot area for a few days or in the freezer for two weeks. Ensure to throw away the vacuum bag once you have cleared the dust and dirt from the furniture etc. Steam cleaning the room is also a good idea.

Pest control is the best way to fight the bug menace, but it is advised that you take the help of professional services. If they have infested a mattress then you should throw it out because they can not be treated with any pesticides. The treatment process to get rid of bed bugs needs to be repeated until the bugs are completely gone.

You should vacuum and steams clean on a regular basis and also go in for laundering linens and other bedding items.
