A prototype was first composed of plywood which in turn was employed to mold the final fiberglass paradigm via a process alike to that used in preparing wings and fuselages for light aircraft. The chair was later exhibited at the 1966 International Furniture Fair in Cologne, Germany, where it was accepted quite warmly and renowned Aarnio as a top-tier furniture creator.
